The first step is to open a new folder and UNZIP the file DSP-8024-ULTRA-CURVE.ZIP into it. It contains the following files :

- BEHRINGER-DSP-8024-EQ-Presets.syx - This is the file that will program 90 memory slots of your DSP-8024

- ULTRA CURVE PRO.CakewalkStudioWare - This is the free StudioWare for DSP-8024 for CAKEWALK SONAR

- DSP8024-SYSEX-v13.pdf - This is a exclusive documentation, not available from Behringer with most of SYSEX commands for DSP-8024 in PDF Acrobat format.

- UltraCurve.ins - Instruments definitions for CAKEWALK SONAR. It is a TXT file and can be edited and used as reference for any other sequencer.

- README-TXT - What you are reading now.

System Requirements:

- At least one BEHRINGER DSP-8024.

- A computer with a working MIDI Connection with your DSP-8024, IN and OUT.

- A software to upload the SYSEX file to your DSP-8024. If you need one, you can download SendSX from BOME.COM

- To use the program change feature of your DSP-8024, you need a Software Sequencer like Cakewalk Sonar, Cubase or any other, a Keyboard with Program Change or any other Controller - Interface that sends program change messages to your DSP-8024.

- The minimum knowledge of computer and MIDI to upload SYSEX files.

IMPORTANT !!! UPLOADING THIS FILE TO YOUR DSP-8024 WILL OVERWRITE ALL AND ANY OTHER PREVIOUS CONFIGURATION and it will save the 90 new professional presets in the EQ memory. Save a Bulk Dump of your current settings to a SYSEX file before proceed !!!

Instructions to send the file BEHRINGER-DSP-8024-EQ-Presets.syx:

1. Open this file with your favorite Sequencer or SYSEX Utility, set the MIDI ports IN and OUT for connection with the DSP-8024, and get ready to send the file BEHRINGER-DSP-8024-EQ-Presets.syx to your Behringer DSP-8024, but don't send it yet. A easy way to check the connection is to send a program change or any other command to DSP-8024. If you see the red MIDI led on the panel of DSP-8024 probably it is working.

2. Press the SETUP key on the front panel of DSP-8024 and hold it for a few seconds. The MIDISETUP page will appear.

3. Using the cursor keys and + - (plus and minus keys) set the following:

MIDI=ON
CHANNEL=1
OMNI-MODE=ON
CNTL SND= ON RCV=1
PROG SND=ON RCV=ON
EXCL SND=ON RCV=ON

4. Put the cursor over RCV MEMORY DUMP and press + (plus key). You will see written : WAITING FOR MEMORY DUMP on the LCD.

5. Now send the file from you computer to the DSP-8024.

6. Once uploaded to your BEHRINGER DSP-8024 you can now load any of the Memory slots using the panel of your DSP-8024 or send the PROGRAM CHANGE command to select the PROGRAMS of your DSP-8024.

StudioWare for CAKEWALK SONAR configuration:

1. You must have one TRACK created just to control DSP-8024. Configure OUT port for the same MIDI port which DSP-8024 is connected into our computer. Configure the same channel number as you have on DSP8024 MIDI SETUP screen.

2. Load the ULTRA CURVE PRO StudioWare panel.

3. Click with the right button of your mouse on any place over the StudioWare for DSP-8024 and choose the same track you are using for the StudioWare, or click on CONFIG and choose the same TRACK number you created to control DSP 8024. Clicking on CONFIG again will close the pop up CONFIG Window. (obs: With this way if all panel becomes dark gray while you are selecting the TRACK, it is because you are referring to a TRACK not created)
